Lectures
Lecture talks may range from ¾ hour to two hours and include up to 80 slides. The minimum fee is £30 plus petrol (currently 40p/mile). Please note that in 2010 the talk fee is increasing to £35 plus travel expenses.

The Role of a Police Wildlife Crime Officer - Relates to Barry's period with Essex Police in this role. The slides illustrate numerous cases and problems regularly encountered and includes current legislation and its associated issues.
Wildlife Photography - A celebration of British Wildlife ranging from flowers to otters.
Badgers - An illustrated talk of one of the most endearing mammals in Britain. The talk includes current legislation and issues surrounding this secretive mammal.
Wild Flowers - Illustrated talk of native British flowers including some of the many orchids found in Britain.
Jersey Zoo and the work of Gerald Durrell - Barry was lucky enough to work with Gerald Durrell in the sixties and the talk illustrates his time there and the subsequent work being carried out by this very special zoo.
River and Pond Life - This talk illustrates the varied flora and fauna from the smallest garden pond to large rivers.
Wildlife in the Garden - This illustrates the huge variety of all aspects of wildlife that can be found in the garden (some more welcome than others).
The Natural World in Miniature - Illustrated talk showing close up (macro) photography of flowers, insects and other wildlife.
Seasons of a Woodland - This talk takes the audience through the four seasons of a broad leaved woodland showing the variety of flora and fauna.
British Coastal Wildlife & Landscapes - This presentation looks at the varied wildlife and and landscapes of the British Coast including sea birds and flowers.
The beautiful "Landscapes of Britain" - This is an imaginary coach trip around Britain illustrating some of its spectacular and beautiful scenery.
Birds - This talk illustrates many of the varied visitors and resident birds of Britain including Red Kites, Kingfishers and Wrens.
In Celebration of Trees - Covers a wide range of the many trees and their inhabitants found in Britain.
Resilience of Nature - A broad look at how nature can survive in extreme conditions.
Landscapes and Wildlife of the Arctic - An illustrated talk following the authors visit to the Arctic Circle in 2007.
Scotland - This is an illustrated talk showing the beautiful landscapes and wildlife of this region.
Guided Tours
These are now proving to be very popular. The walks vary between a whole day (£5.00 per head), a half day or an evening event ( either £4.50 per head with cheese and wine or £2.50 per head with coffee and biscuits). Groups should be a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 35. Picnic area, parking, teas and coffees are all provided at "Pandemonium". Please ring for further details.
West Wood (Essex Wildlife Trust Reserve) - This is a walk around a beautiful 80 acre ancient broad-leaved woodland extending along the B1051 between Thaxted and Great Sampford. Flowers include Oxlip, Bluebells and various Orchids and Wood Barley. Birds include Buzzard, Nightingale, Woodpeckers and various warblers to list but a few. This walk can be divided into a 2 or 3 hour walk to suit.
Sweetings Meadow - This is a small 1½ acre wildlife meadow. Situated at Lindsell near Dunmow. It is ancient meadow and boasts 6 species of Wild Orchids (June/July) and many other interesting flowers and shrubs around the perimeter. A pond also attracts a lot of dragonflies and other insects. A beautiful spot in mid summer. This walk is approximately 1 hour.
A Garden/Farm/Reservoir - A gentle stroll around our 2½ acre garden with a ⅜ acre of nature reserve at the bottom, followed by a walk through the neighbouring farm to a 7 million gallon reservoir with wild flowers on its gentle banks.
