This consultancy carries out surveys for all wildlife and environmental issues including planning and the three main protected species in the UK: Badgers, Great Crested Newts and Bats.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds in Animal Husbandry and Agricultural Engineering (Jersey)

• National Certificate in Agriculture (Writtle)

• National Certificate in Ornithology (Birmingham University)

• National Diploma in Ornithology (Birmingham University)

• BSc (Hons) in Natural Sciences (Open University)

• Associate member of The Institute for Ecology and Environmental Management (IEEM)

• Post Graduate Diploma in Ornithology

Experience

• Born and raised on a small mixed farm

• Worked at Jersey Zoo (1964-1969) with Gerald Durrell

• Essex Police (1973-2005) During this service many surveys carried out under licence for the three species listed above

• Wildlife Crime Officer for 18 years

• Part time Force Wildlife Crime Officer for 7 years

• Full time Force Wildlife Crime Officer for 2 years

• Warden for Nature Reserve for Essex Wildlife Trust Wild Flower Meadow since 1976

• Wildlife Inspector with DEFRA since 1998

• Author of five published books: "The Wildlife Man", "Running Wild", "Cassie", "Jack of All Trades" and "Chocka's Story"

• Fellow of the British Naturalists Association (BNA)
